About the Artist
I was born at Agen, Lot-et-Garonne, a small town in southern France and arrived in the United States at the end of World War II. I have been interested in art, particularly painting and printmaking since childhood. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, I received my BFA degree in Printmaking and Drawing from Wichita State University.

My early career was devoted primarily to the printmaking mediums of the woodcut and the wood engraving, having exhibited in a number of regional exhibitions. Since the mid-1970's I have concentrated on drawings, watercolors and acrylic air-brush paintings while also being employed over the years as an art therapist, teacher, curator, technical illustrator and as the owner of an art gallery and frame shop.

Living much of my life in Kansas, I became acquainted and friends with a few of the original "Prairie Printmakers"; among them Lloyd C. Foltz, Charlie Capps, Clarence Hotvedt, Leo Meissner, Ted Hawkins, William Dickerson, and M.R. Bebb, who gave me enthusiastic encouragement.

Only a few impressions of each print shown here were printed at the time. After 30 years I am returning to my first endeavor, the woodcut and the wood engraving. Over the years a number of my blocks have split, warped or developed cracks and needed to be repaired before the rest of the editions could be run. Sadly, quite a few were beyond repair and had to be discarded. On these pages are the ones that survived. Now that my printmaking studio is almost set up again, I hope to be adding new work in the future, so bookmark this website and check back often to see what new work may have been added.

I am presently restoring a turn-of-the-century home (a never ending project), and second to my interest in art is my appreciation for antiques and collectibles. In recent years I have acquired a fascination (obsession) for antique clocks and pocketwatches, especially early American and pre-1850's English fusee pocketwatches and am in the process of building a web site to showcase my small collection.
